Sustainable Poultry Center

Welcome to the Sustainable Poultry Center! The poultry industry is facing unprecedented challenges that threaten the sustainability of poultry production. The Center will serve as a clearinghouse for timely information related to poultry sustainability and will link our stakeholders to a host of relevant research to facilitate our stakeholders to adopt new strategies for enhanced poultry production and health, such as non-antibiotic approaches for mitigation of antimicrobial resistance. This website is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture. The project is led by The University of Tennessee in collaboration with Oklahoma State University and Mississippi State University. Our industry partners include Sanderson Farms, Inc., Merck Animal Health, U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, Tennessee Poultry Association, and Mississippi Poultry Association. We are working to develop alternatives to antibiotics for growth promotion as well as disease control in poultry.
